The Osh State University Research Department was established in September 2020 in accordance with the order of the rector of the university by  No. 55-FHD, which is  dated 08.18.2020.

On February 1, 2021, Kurbanbayeva Nurzhamal Nazhidinovna was appointed head of the research department.

On August 2, 2023, the research department was transformed into the Department of Science and Innovation of Osh State University.

Goal:

The Department of Science and Innovation of Osh State University develops fundamental and applied sciences as a priority and at the same time provides assistance in conducting scientific research.

The main goal is to contribute to the formation of competent, scientific and creative personalities in society.

Responsibilities

• The Department carries out scientific activities in accordance with the Charter of Osh State University because of normative legal acts, regulations governing scientific research and development of Osh State University.
• The Department of Science and Innovation of Osh State University carries out organizational activities to determine the internal rating of the university based on the results of academic scientific activity of the teaching staff, as well as when considering one-time awards for evaluating and encouraging academic scientific activity of the teaching staff of OSH State University.
• In order to increase the scientific potential of the university, organizes and conducts scientific seminars on the formation of competencies of researchers, teachers, undergraduates and postgraduates for conducting research.
• Engages in research activities and increases its effectiveness by stimulating the teaching staff of PhD doctoral students, undergraduates and postgraduates;
• Encourages projects with priority areas of science at the level of the region and the Republic, and provides financial support in this field of activity;
• Creates conditions for the implementation of research activities of the university faculty, PhD doctoral students, undergraduates and postgraduates
• Activates scientific research in the structural divisions of the university and promotes the development of their scientific potential;
• Supports projects of a joint (interdisciplinary) nature and promotes joint scientific research conducted by university staff;
• Oversees the functioning of project activities in order to provide support and create opportunities for the publication of the results obtained, the practical implementation of research and their implementation in production, as well as activities in the direction of regional development;
• Supervises the publication of scientific research and the results obtained; the practical implementation and implementation of scientific research and the organization of activities, ongoing projects in order to support and create opportunities for action in the direction of regional development.

Currently, 132 employees work in the Department of Science and Innovation of Osh State University.

The number of performers of the project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic – 10;

• The number of executors of projects funded by Osh State University is 110.
